This is a cute little robot which is interactive and autonomous with several personality settings. You can also pre-program and play back moves, and control the robot with the remote. It may be limited in features (which do include a gaurd mode) but it's antics and personality traids more than make up for it. The robot does not talk, but instead uses clever beeps and other sounds to "communicate". It is said that the RoboQuad is not a spider or a crab, but an "alien" robot. Or just a "RoboQuad".

I have two of these. One is a mini version of the RoboQuad which I named "Mee Mee". I got this in December 2008 from the manufacturer (WowWee Robotics). I had been shopping around for the full-sized robot but the prices were a bit too much. Until I came across one almost immediately after ordering the mini. This one is the full-sized actual robot I named "Mackie" which I got in December 2008 from Amazon.com for only $58. The mini one only rolls across the floor and moves it's head and legs (which are set up off the floor, not touching the floor). It does not light up.
